After stumbling on #1 (The Price of Innocence) in this series of individual books, I felt compelled to read as 2 & 3 ... & will continue on ...Ms Hopkins has developed such interesting characters, encompassing lies, deceit, desperation, love, hate, & compassion in an engrossing saga. Never before has this reader been more anxious to read the next in a series involving the same cast of characters. An added bonus is that each book stands alone. It is a rare pleasure for me to recommend this series.

The story throughout the books was intriguing and made me want to read the last one for sure. The emotions of love,betrayal and deceit were very easy to feel and relate to.
I waited a year to get this book. The first two books were "GREAT". I read book one and two again before I read book three. I was so disappointed.

Vicki does it again! The book delves nicely into the siblings growing relationship and I am so happy the way things ended with her father. Read the whole trilogy to understand these complex people. Jolene has much to learn about real life in the grown up world. The author needs a fourth book to show how this works. Young Robert is my favorite character yet!

Bought the whole series. Nice balance of character development, romance and storyline.
Took a week to read all three. I feel as though I just spent a week in Europe with a completely dysfunctional family trying to find its way out of the darkness. I didn't like the ending, but this does not lessen the greatness of these three books. I did not think an innocent, yet arrogant, 18 year old should have been able to fix the decades of damage done, without repercussions to herself. Her plan should have backfired and led to more books in the series, rather than everyone living "happily ever after." Or she and her half brother should have fallen madly in love before they found out who each other was. I, however, am not the author and she gets to choose the ending, not me!
